The world we inhabit today is not separated by boundless waters and treacherous terrain - connection is not limited to our geographic constraints, yet people are more alienated and atomized than ever.

In the endless noise of 21st century living, I want to encourage and build bridges to bring us closer together. The goal with the Islands Initiative is for fans of the DYL catalogue to find others like them and make a new friend - even just one.

This is my take on a pen pal program. Find a fellow ISA member, and start sending little messages in bottles to each other.

Connection is all we have, so don’t be a stranger. You are loved, you matter, and you don’t have to weather these storms alone.
